Brush Lettering Workshop
Our Humber College Graphic Design for Print & Web program offers students workshops in brush lettering, hosted by Leslie Harrod of LigaturesYYZ. Our students learn the art of brush lettering during their Typography course within the first section of our program. Each student learns how to construct letter forms and acquire some practical skills in brush lettering using TomBow Markers. Many of our students are not familiar with the tools and techniques of brush lettering. However, after familiarizing themselves with Tombow Brush Markers and creating various line weights, curves and letter forms, they are able to create characters, numerals and glyphs. By the end of the workshop, students create a various brush lettered logos and quotes that are used to create vector type.
